How to Apply for a Business visa Indonesia

Both single-entry and multiple-entry business visas enable foreigners to come to Indonesia for business reasons excluding obtaining income within the territory.

On the contrary, a business visa in Indonesia permits its holders to participate at conferences, training, or workshops to broaden one’s knowledge as well as business meetings to negotiate conditions of the potential business deals.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to current public health situations (coronavirus), citizens from countries that have implemented the lockdown policy and who are currently in Indonesia and whose visas are about to expire soon can get Emergency Visas (30 days and extendable). Contact us immediately for consultation.

Single and Multiple-entry Business Visas

A business visa holder is allowed to stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days.

While a single-entry business visa means that the holder must apply for a new visa after the current one expires, a multiple-entry business visa does not limit the number of stays in the country per year.

Eligible Candidates for a Business Visa

Requirements and conditions for a business visa in Indonesia are quite flexible, and most of the applicants meet the criteria.

However, a list of so-called restricted countries exists and visa applications of their citizens would most probably be rejected. Citizens from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Guinea, Israel, Iraq, Liberia, Nigeria, North Korea and Somali may not be eligible for an Indonesia business visa application.

Requirements for a Business Visa Application in Indonesia

To ensure a seamless Indonesia business visa application, prepare the following documents beforehand:

  • Photo of your passport with minimum validity of 18 months
  • Bank account statement with minimum of USD 1500
  • Plane ticket to Jakarta or other Indonesian cities with stated departure date
  • Other documents depending on your sponsorship company
  • A return ticket showing that you will leave Indonesia within 60 days starting from the arrival date in the country

Furthermore, avoid making the following common mistakes when applying for your Indonesia business visa:

  • Information in the application form does not match with your documents: You must fill in all details of the information required in the application form and attach the compulsory documents. Ensure that all information in the application form matches the documents. For example, information on passport number, date of birth, etc.
  • Applying for a business visa only when you are about to travel: Do not procrastinate your business visa application until it is so close to the travel date. By doing so, you will have enough time to go through the checklist properly, so that you do not miss out on some of the requirements.
  • Providing incorrect sponsor details: The sponsor details are critical for the business visa application as sponsor is one of the determining factors of a successful visa application. Treat the sponsor section on the form seriously and carefully. Fill in complete information and provide valid, relevant sponsorship documents.
